Where did they get those wonderful spoons?

Enough about Matrix merchandising. There's so much more to discuss and talk about in the film. I'm going to open up a section for peoples' thoughts, reactions and interpretations of the film. Not reviews necessarily, just interesting thoughts. I've received a couple of such e-mails but I want more. So even if you feel like asking me what brand of spoons where used in The Matrix, why not just punch a few lines out and contribute something to an intellectual discussion. Sound good? Great. Secrets...

So a lot of you were curious as to what I was referring to as far as a "secret" hidden in the credits. Well, just wait the credits out till the end. I'm not going to explain exactly what I'm talking about because I think it's fun to find the hidden stuff on the official site. But for those that are in the know, I have obtained a full list of codes from e-mail agent 'Scyth.' But it wouldn't be any fun just giving them away. So I've hidden them on MY site. Have fun and don't look too hard.

Other News...

Let's see, there's a new commercial/trailer in the trailer section on the official site.

The latest issue of Entertainment Magazine (the April 9, 1999 issue) has an entire feature on The Matrix including Keanu on the cover. Go buy it now. NOW.

The Wachowskis will exec. produce the film "Carnivore" which they wrote. A sort of "eat the rich" tale...Cinescape Online reported today:

George Romero is in final negotiations to team with Larry and Andy Wachowski (The Matrix) to direct Carnivore for Trimark Pictures. The film, which has a script by the brothers, tells the surreal, gothic fable of a boarding house wherein rich people disappear under mysterious circumstances. The story primarily focuses on a penniless stranger who is lodging in the house where the food tastes very unusual. The film will be produced by Stacy Kramer and Lisa Tornell. Plans are to start production in August, which suggests that Romero's Resident Evil movie, which the director is writing, might take a bit longer to reach fruition that previously thought.

April 2, 1999

• Well for one, the movie is now out so go see it. It's an amazing flick.
• As you can see I've posted some reviews of The Matrix above. My own review will be up shorty for anyone who might be interested.
• I also just got a bunch of cool things from the Chicago Premiere of The Matrix, which I will upload very soon. Thanks to Tom.
• The Official Site is now fully functional. All of the sections are open. If you watch the credits at the end of The Matrix you will find a key that unlocks a secret section of the official site...good luck.
• The guys at the official Matrix site were way ahead of me. In the "Unfortunately, no one can be told..." section there are links to various artificial intelligence and virtual reality sites.

March 29, 1999

• A bunch more reviews came into Dark Horizons and Cinescape in the past few days. I have added links to them in the Links Section. Again, all reviews thus far have been VERY positive.
• I spotted a new commercial on television over the weekend. It features a lot of new footage including a sequence where Morpheus (Laurence Fishburne) is teaching Neo (Keanu Reeves) some form of Martial Arts. If anyone has it on tape and has digitizing capability, I'd love to post it on the site...
• The official site seems to be updated almost daily. New sections are opening up every day. The online game is up now...it's simple but pretty crazy. On March 31 the entire site should be fully up and working.

March 25, 1999

• Two reviews of The Matrix were posted on Dark Horizons today. Both Positive, both with spoilers (you have been warned). I don't want to read them yet, but you're certainly welcome to. All of the online buzz thus far has been positive. Very good.
• For fans of the Wachowski Brothers, why not check out my Bound page, which I've added to the links section.

March 22, 1999

• I added a link to the links page for The Movie-Page's Matrix site. Definitely check it out.
• I also added a lot of very cool pictures to the pictures page. Hell, check that out too.
• The Official site has added an AWESOME section on special effects. Including the original green-screen video of the bullets passing by Keanu, before compositing was done. The section is still only half-way completed so check back there often.
• A site for the soundtrack was also added to the Official site.

• MATRIX IN REALITY: The Matrix predicts computers taking over the world and making humans their slaves. Stephen Hawking recently gave a speech regarding his predictions of the future. It included a prediction that humans would develop computers as complex as the human brain. Read an article about the speech. I will try to find the actual transcript of the speech. As I find more real life info on the future of Artificial Intelligence I will create a section of the site devoted to it.

March 17, 1999

Well I neglected to update for 7 months. A lot has happened and the site now reflects a lot of that. I will attempt to update much more periodically now that the release of the film is only weeks away.

The First Matrix Online Comic

The Official site has posted the first two of many online Matrix comic books. They are stories set in the universe of The Matrix but do not involve the plot of the film.

Sorry for not updating in a while but not too much Matrix news has been going around. To recap the various bits of info since the last update:

• The rumors regarding Keanu being in a bad mood on the set were either denied or found untrue.
• Shooting has wrapped in Australia and has been continued in the States.
• Three images from the movie have been released.

March 31, 1998

According to Cinescape Online, Keanu threw a fit on the set in Sydney today, after a frustrating shoot.

They also included a spoiler on the ending of Matrix. I haven't read it, but visit Cinescape Online's March 30** news if you'd like to read it.

March 23, 1998

Dark Horizons released some more pictures from the set of Matrix as well as an on site report. Nothing too special but interesting non-the-less. Visit their March 23 news section and follow the Matrix picture link.
